The Second ANTENNAE ICNS Stakeholder Workshop

On the 22nd of July 2026, the ANTENNAE ICNS project had the Second Stakeholder Workshop. The workshop was held at the National University of Ireland Maynooth. With industry experts participating on-site and online, we reviewed the project’s key research questions and discussed the technical details of Integrated CNS, the reference architecture, practical considerations, and business implications. Thank you very much, everyone, for devoting your time, providing advice, and sharing insights! Your input will be reflected in the final technical deliverables of the project. The ANTENNAE ICNS Project Published the Article in The Innovation Platform Magazine, Issue 25

The ANTENNAE ICNS project has been featured in The Innovation Platform Magazine (Issue 25), showcasing our vision for the future of integrated aviation communication, navigation, and surveillance services.
The article highlights how ANTENNAE addresses the limitations of today’s legacy CNS systems, which were originally designed for high-altitude manned aviation and are not well suited to emerging low-altitude operations involving Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Vertical Take-off and Landing Capable Aircraft (VCA).
To meet the needs of this rapidly evolving aviation ecosystem, ANTENNAE is exploring the use of 3GPP telecommunications standards, including 5G and future 6G networks, to develop an innovative Integrated Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (ICNS) framework. The proposed solution seamlessly combines terrestrial and satellite networks to provide resilient, continuous coverage, utilizing ground-based infrastructure in populated areas while leveraging satellite connectivity in remote regions and during periods of network congestion.
By integrating communication, navigation, and surveillance services into a single technology framework, ANTENNAE aims to reduce the need for multiple onboard systems, lowering aircraft weight and energy consumption. This approach supports safe and reliable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, improves airspace efficiency, and contributes to more sustainable aviation by reducing environmental impact.
The ANTENNAE ICNS framework is helping to pave the way for the next generation of autonomous air mobility, supporting both traditional Air Traffic Management (ATM) and future U-space services. Read more on our LinkedIn page
